Greetings from Leander TX, I'm partners with a buddy of mine in building a 68 Chevelle (ok malibu) up as a drag car. We are nubes when it comes to drag racing, so we're starting slow.
We're doing a frame off on the 68 we're going to use (it was dressed up as an SS car complete with emblems and SS hood - interior as well). We're finishing up the suspension rebuild and boxing the frame in a few locations and have a 9in 4:11 rear end made to fit the stock mounting locations.
We just got another donor car that burned up with a good sbc 400 block / turbo 400 in it (and a good GM 12bolt). The car was setup for drag racing .. The 400 block is a later casting and has edelbrock vic jr heads and intake on it.. so that will be what we are going to start with. :beers:
This seems to be the best site for chevy motor knowledge (among other things), hopefully we can contribute some of our experiences.
