I keep getting a warning that I have very low disk space in my C drive. This is an older computer that I recently installed XP on it used to have win 2000 on it. When I installed XP does it remove the old op system or is that what might be clogging up my disc space? How do I clean it out? the only thing in there looks like XP operating folders.

First Double Click on My Computer, Then Highlight your C: drive. Then tell us how large your Drive is, should be in the lower left hand corner of the my computer window.

If it is less than 10GB then maybe you just have too small of a drive. If it is larger, then I suggest that you need to do some housekeeping. Run the Clean Up tool.

When You install XP the software should format your HD, so I doubt you have both 2000 and XP installed.

XP Is less than 2 GBs, same with Windows 2000.

When you upgraded, it should of given you the choice to make the XP upgrade uninstallable, or not. If you chose not, it would overwrite everything, otherwise it would save all of your win2K files in a special uninstall folder.

Here's instructions on removing those files: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/308008/

Well I am not sure how I figured it out but I think I fixed it. I tried all the disc cleaning and folder cleaning with no luck so just out of curiosity I popped the cover off the computer and started messing around and I found a plug not fully plugged into the hard drive. I plugged it back in and its working great.

thanks
