Ok my previous post were about timing. I have decided to put medium springs that start to advance at 600 and stop at 2800. Is that ok for my setup. My car will idle at 900 if I can ever get it to come down from 1200. I plan on trying manifold vacuum on the carb instead of ported but that will give me vacuum and mechnical advance so now what?

If you can only get your idle down to 1200 then your timing is set to high. Plug off the vacume advance and move your timing. Back up on your fast idle screw and when the rpms come down go back and check your timing. Keep doing this back & forth until you get your idle to the 900.
