Does anybody know if Holley still makes the pink and red secondary springs? The catalog only lists purple then yellow. Purple on my motor doesn't open untill 3500rpm while the yellow is too low around 1500. I have an old spring assorment chart showing the red and pink springs.
Thanks
Steve

no they do not make those springs anymore ..there spring kit goes black, brown, standard (no color) purple, tall yellow and short yellow........of course this is the order from stiffer to lightest.......
did you use a paper clip on the rod of your secondary's to verify the opening rate when under load........i hope your not checking with the car in park and reving the motor for this is false reading......must have air cleaner on as well ( if you run one) to get proper readings of the opening rate........

The testing is all seat of the pants and O2 swing with the O2 gauge. The car is faster with the yellow spring, maybe I have the short one I don't know for sure. But the car bogs down abit in the lower rpms. I am gonna play around with the accelerator pump a little, and see if it just needs a little more fuel to help put the bog. Maybe more shot with a smaller squiter to spread it out a bit.
I was just hoping the springs were still around so I could thorw them in and see what happens.
Thanks
Steve
I know a guy that will take a "yellow spring" remove a portion of the "big" end of the spring, then stretch the spring to its orignial length for a "lighter spring". Easy to try, springs are cheap.
