I cant get this thing to idle. I checked my distributor and carb, everything threw itself out of wack in the past few months. I can get it to idle basically anywhere in park (this is an automatic) but the gap between park and when i throw it in gear is very great! For example:

In drive I usually have it around 1000RPM, maybe a hair less. I cant get it anywhere near that. The gap of RPM's between drive and park is SO WIDE. Ive toyed with the carb, the throttle and the dist. Everything is off now, it fires but sounds like crap. Back to the basics here, what do I do... :eek:

Sounds to me like it was too lean at idle,thus the rpm differential between park and in gear idle speed.

Yeah you're right. That and I think I really need to add a PCV on my valve cover. I think im good graemlins/beers.gif ::KNock on wood::

i think you have a huge vacuum leak.
