: Anyone run the Dynomax Race Bullet Mufflers?

I'm looking to run two of these in a dual 3" setup. I'm wondering how much quieter is the car going to be with the 23.5" mufflers vs the 16.5" long mufflers.

These are 4" round, 3"In/Out

I'm looking for a good sounding, inexpensive, excellent flowing bullet muffler because of the lack of room for true dual exhaust in my car.

Right now my sig has 3" non mandel bent into a single 2 7/8 that gets a bit crumpled when it goes over my axle! It's time for a change!

Any input would be great! Thanks guys

From what I've heard the Dynomax Bullets are like a bulge in your exhaust pipe, not much sound deadening there at all, extremely loud. I like the ultra flow welded ovals, more or less an oval case, packed with fibreglass, straight thru design, like an oval glasspack only quieter.

well i bought the long bullets thinking they would be just a little quiter but i cant tell much difference in them than the 16 inch ones on a friends car ,about all they do is take some of the hard crack out of the pipes

My friend has the 6" round case with 4" pipe. He's looking for something quieter.

he's selling the mufflers and 4" turndowns for $100. Their in great shape with maybe 300 miles on them.

He's going to a dynomax super turbo for quietness.

Dynomax Bullets are strictly race-not for the street. Almost like running open headers! I run them on my race car actually like the sound better than open! Probably no significant hp loss either.

I'm using the 4" bullets, but I use them as resonators in front of a set of Borlas. I wouldn't dream of running JUST the bullets. Way too loud.

If you don't mind setting off car alarms @ 30 ft.
LOL!Like others have said, very loud, and I'm not
timid.

A buddy of mine was sent home from the drag strip because the bullets were too loud for the required sound level. I don't know if they were the long or short ones but as said above both are loud. The ovals are much quiter and would work, I think, for a street car. Sound great, too.

I have a couple of 3" Bullet mufflers on my Camaro and all they do is take the fun out of
driving. I think they were designed mainly for classes that require mufflers. VERY LOUD.

Alrighty, the bullets are out. Pat, what Ovals are you talking about? The ultra flo oval? That's going to compromise my space. I'm toting around in an '87 Iroc and of course was originally designed for single exhaust.... To run duals and have ANY ground cleanance, I have to fit both pipes and mufflers on the passenger side!

How about the Ultra Flo Rounds?

Edit: Just looking over some pictures I've found, the edelbrock RPM seems to be pretty slim too, how are they? Summit says Edel claims this muffler beat the competing 3" muffler by 200cfm.
