BAL273804BDY Fisher Body sequential number for the body
TR 755- Black interior with vinyl bench seat
40 B PNT- Butternut yellow lower with black top
17C- should be 07C= jul 1969 third week, suspect the rivit is covering the first 0.
M 207324- data processing letter/number code- research indicates that the M may be related to non-SS bodies but it is not proven
The only true way to determine a 1969's originality is with an original build sheet, Protect-o-plate or the original engine with the correct stamps. Of course these days many of these items are being reproduced/restamped; so it is getting harder and harder to know the real deal on any of them. FWIW
hope this helps Andy

I have some numbers from the Proteco Plate, wondering if I can get some help in deciphering these also. The car is being sold with no confirmation of it being an SS but is equipped with a 396 and 4 speed. I would like to know if it is an original BB /4 speed car, it does not have a console only a bench seat. The car seems

Unfortunately the forum software tends to run text together making things like this difficult to tell where line breaks are but here goes:
13667 - Malibu V8 convertible
9 - 1969
B - Baltimore
404524 - assembly sequence number. Sequencing started with 300,001 making yours the 104,524th 1969 Chevelle sequenced at Baltimore
B - Bay City (carburetor source)
10703 DC - probably T0703 DC (or maybe K0703DC) - T for Tonawanda engine plant, K is for McKinnon Industries, July 3 engine assembly date, DC 307 2-bbl Powerglide - So it's not an SS car if the VIN on the POP matches the car.
CA0707B - CA=3.08 open rear end (10-bolt), July 7, Buffalo plant
7 - Build month, July 1969
C9K01 - probably 69K01 (?) for 1969, McKinnon Industries 3-speed manual, 01 not sure.
1 3 0 - The 1 and 3 are some options listed but they are position specific but if the '1' is directly below the first letter on the rear end code (C) it indicates Power Steering, the second position (assume it's blank here) would be power brakes, the '3' would be the 3rd position indicating a radio option (radio type not specified, just a radio was installed). I would also suspect the '0' is on the far right and is really a bowtie logo indicating a Chevrolet plate.
Can you post, or send me a readable photo orscan by chance? I don't have any examples of a manual 3-speed on a 69 POP and would assist in helping people in the future with their POPs.
Might also check my web site pages http://www.chevellestuff.com/1969/pop_decode.htm for decoding and http://www.chevellestuff.com/1969/chevelle/tags/pop.htm for some other examples.
