I have a question for you guys. Will hooking up 2 smaller electric fuel pumps give me the volume that one bigger pump would? I have a Mallory 140 pump, but I have been told by some that the pump might not supply enough fuel at the higher RPM's. Can I hook 2 of these Mallory 140 pumps in-line and get increased fuel volume?

kinetic energy..i dont think so but could be wrong.you could put one at the rear and one at the front(push/pull effect).if you put them next to each other the second pump is only gonna accept the volume that the first one accepts so i dont think there would be any change from one pump to two pumps that are the same.plus you'll be pulling more amperage from the alternator wich in turn takes more power..but could be wrong..

I believe you would want to put 2 in parallel, not series.

I recently asked UD Harold for advice on cam and he also suggested putting two pumps in parallel to Y block through the # 8 AN, then to another Y block with a regulator on each side. I still have the same question as you do "Dude" which is am I better off with one larger pump?

As long as you have the Mallory 140 gravity fed or slightly higher, it can handle most anything. Heck I can run 10.70's with a mechanical pump. I do run the Mallory 140 now because of a fuel pump pushrod problem on my fuel pump lobe on the cam. No difference at all in ET or mph between the Carter 172 (3 psi at the top end) and the Mallory 140 (6 psi at the top end with my return style regulator set at 7.5 psi)

What are you driving that a 140 won't keep up with?
