Well,

I just got in from a long day at Atlanta Dragway. Today was the first day of the Summit Points race for this year. I made it into the quarter finals and finished in the money. While this isn't exactly "great", it's the best I've ever been able to do so far as the sportsman competition at this track is pretty stiff. My car ran pretty good all day. We normally run 1/4 mile but due to the headwind/crosswind (upwards of 15-20mph most of the day) they only let us run 1/8th mile. My car ran 6.80's all day long. DA ranged from 2,600' to 1,800'. So for that DA and the headwind I'm pretty pleased with the performance of my car. One run was really cool. I dialed 6.87. I had a .535 and ran dead on with a 1. Took out one of the track hitters with a .03 package graemlins/thumbsup.gif

It was a really good day except for a mishap in the pit lanes with my buddy's Camaro graemlins/sad.gif

Hey Ken, glad I got a chance to talk to you & Mike Newby. Good to see Mike got R/U in Trophy although he put me out to do so. :( Your chevelle is mighty slick & strong ! graemlins/thumbsup.gif Mikes' car runs well for a streetable combo & is clean too. I can vouch for the tough competition in Sportsman at Atl. I've had my clock cleaned quite a few times running that class the last few years off & on. I hope the weather cooperates next month when I can get to the track again. See you then with the slow El Camino. Dave H

Thanks guys.

Dave, it was good to meet you as well. Sorry I didn't get to see your El Camino run. It was a pretty crazy day yesterday. Hope to see you out there again sometime.

Dave, Ken, Gordon,
Good to see everybody again this year, and I hope we can all do it again soon. Bummer about your door Gordon, let us know if you need any help with it.

i dont want to hijack your thread but what does it mean when you say you ran dead on with a 1, i read this kind of lingo all the time on here and DRR and cant understand it for the life of me.

Ken,

Stop getting so fast, I won't be out there until April 4th, you are getting way too ahead of me.

Nice going graemlins/beers.gif
