I received my 9.5" converter from BTE a few weeks ago. It was recomended by Bubba Stanton one of the tech guys. After talking to another one of the guys over there he said this converter should brake stall to about 3200 and flash at 4500rpm. Is that too much for my set up?? The 10" he said would foot brake 2800 and flash about 4000 or so. Here is my set for the guys that dont know it:
3400lbs
408sbc
9.8 to 1
AFR 195's
xs274-236/242 with 501/510
RPM air gap
750DP
1 3/4" headers
3" x pipe with 3" 40 series
TH400 with 3.73's
26" tire

I run the xs282s10 on a 355 in a heavy ride with a 4000rpm flash stall..it flashes to 4500 on N20(this is not street ride)..it seems with the smaller cam and bigger cubes the 9.5 might stall too high...for a street ride
So do you think that it would flash to 4500 behind my combo?? I dont want it to flash past my peak torque right? Should I sent it back and go for the 10" model?

if its strip only you want the converter to flash a couple of hundred rpm over peak torque...for street/strip I would think you want touse th broadest torque range available. With that cam your rpm range for torques is somewhere between 2800-5000rpm..probably topping out at 5800rpm. shifting at 6000rpm..seems like a converter in the 3200/flashing at 3500 sounds good...but I am no expert..try to talk to Steve Oldini..he goes by transman and been200mph..hes the expert
