Can anyone give me an approximate HP rating for the following engine: 327 bored .040 over-10.5:1 flat tops-Crane energizer cam (.470 lift)2.02 heads-Edelbrock Performer manifold-Edelbrock 600cfm Performer carb-GM HEI ignition-Headers. I built this engine for my 65 300 deluxe 2 door but don't know the HP output.

300 hp...just a guess,,,no way of really telling, you can build two identical engines and come up with two different hp ratings. My sons engine is a 355 in a 81 chev. pickup...runs 13.5X 1/4 miles at 3870lbs. with him in it...according to the calculators at www.prestage.com (http://www.prestage.com) ..his is making 308 rwhp...the 355 has vortec heads,,,little more cam .480 lift Lunati Bracketmaster,,,and 10-1 compression or a little more.

I was curious as to what the difference would be between the engine that I have built and a factory 327/350 hp

You are probably in the 360-375HP range (at the flywheel). This assumes that you have done the best tweaking to the carb, jetting, and timing.
