: close call but it looks like I can keep the Chevelle
ed3196499 Apr 18th, 08, 11:34 AM I had posted the 70 for sale a few weeks ago but hadnt had a chance to put it on ebay since I was deployed. Our house in La has been draining us its been sitting empty after our tenant left without notice and left the place a mess. My wife had to go to La and clean and paint some of the rooms and we have been covering the mortgage on our own for several months now. Well we got a good offer on the house and sent over the final paper work this morning for the inspection discrepancies and if all goes well we will be closing on May 12th. Its going to take a while to rebuild our savings that we had to tap into to carry it so no major car or truck projects but atleast I wont have to sell them. We are not out of the woods yet atleast until the papers are signed and the keys are turned over. But there is light at the end of the tunnel:hurray:

Chevy fan attic Apr 18th, 08, 11:42 AM Thats good news bro. I hope it all works out.
We are in the same boat. We rent a house in Hemet Calif. The last tenants did 10 to 12 K in damage.
The car in my sig is now on hold.

Chevelle_Nut Apr 18th, 08, 4:13 PM It is too bad the Boy Toys are always on the line when times get tough. My wife has enough money invested in clothes but there is no way she could get anything for them. So I sell my toys and she keeps the clothes. Just doesn't seem fair.
Glad you are getting to keep the car. With the way things are going there will be a lot of close calls out there.
rchevellea Apr 18th, 08, 4:48 PM fantastic news!!!!
Freddy Mercado Apr 18th, 08, 10:26 PM Outstanding!!! I'm glad for you!!!

Lets hope its not a train! Just kidding. Very good news, always hard to sell a part of you, in this case cars, sometimes hard to gain back.

Hi-po SS 454 Apr 19th, 08, 11:15 AM It seems rare out here that renters don't do big damage to Rentals. I see it all the time. Some owners keep at it anyway and fight the headaches and expense, and others give up and sell out.
Chevy fan attic Apr 19th, 08, 11:20 AM After I am done with the last bozo by exposing his butt in court and attatching his commissions as well as putting a lien on his house, vengence (SP) will be mine. Yes he owns a home in Hemet. Go figure. This clown messed up the wrong peoples house.
Give up is not in my vocabulary!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

GOTS TO GET BETTER.........
langss Apr 20th, 08, 5:12 AM I had the same problem a few years ago. I bought another house, the old house was not selling and it was starting to get messed with because it was empty.I had to have a friend move in until it finally sold. Two Mortgages and Utilities were killing me.I didnt want to rent it because I new what could happen.I heard it to many time from the guys I work with.
ed3196499 Apr 20th, 08, 10:30 AM Since we live in military housing now we dont get the housing allowance that we used to get so covering the mortgage and utilities down there in an empty house was tough. latest update from the realtor is the buyers agreed to our terms on the inspection issues and we will have to pay another pile of money to fix some things but if all goes well May 12th will be closing and we can breathe again. Its hard telling the kids they cant get things because we have to pay for a house we dont live in.
