As of 7:15, the roads are a little wet, but the cloud coverage appears to be thin and looks like the sun is trying to prairy dog through the clouds. I am calling the doc at 9 or 10 to give the up to date forecast.

If I was racing today and looked outside I would be thinking it was gona be a good day. Weather.com says 90% chance of rain we will see.

Just came in from the woods and it was trying to snow on the job in Raymond, which is just off the coast. Dry here in Aberdeen. I'm loadin' up soon.

Don't know how many times I've not went to the track because of a rain prediction, only to find out they raced all weekend. C'mon Brian and Mike P., part those clouds!:D

I'm not going to tell you what the national weather service says for us...

ok, I will...:D

SNOW LEVELS WILL DROP THIS MORNING AND BY THIS AFTERNOON WILL AVERAGE AROUND 1000 FEET. SNOW LEVELS NEAR 1000 FEET WILL CONTINUE THROUGH SATURDAY. HEAVIER SHOWERS IN THE AREA TONIGHT AND SATURDAY MORNING WILL HAVE THE POTENTIAL TO LOWER THE SNOW LEVEL BRIEFLY DOWN TO NEAR SEA LEVEL. ANY SNOW THAT FALLS IN THE LOWLANDS IS UNLIKELY TO ACCUMULATE... EXCEPT BRIEFLY ON CARS AND GRASS. THE MOUNTAINS AND CASCADE PASSES WILL SEE ACCUMULATING SNOW THROUGH SATURDAY... WITH ACCUMULATIONS UP TO A FOOT OVER THE 2 DAY PERIOD. THE HEAVIEST ACCUMULATIONS ARE EXPECTED IN THE CONVERGENCE ZONE BETWEEN STEVENS AND SNOQUALMIE PASS.

From various sources
Short term...narrow convergence zone band has redeveloped over
northern King County...with fairly light precipitation rates. Cold air
still well to our north so lowland precipitation should remain rain this
morning. Cold upper level trough sliding south over Vancouver Island
looks on track to move into western Washington by around 18z.
Freezing levels will drop through the afternoon and into Friday
night...snow levels may to the surface in the heavier showers and
at the higher hilltops tonight into tomorrow morning. Lowland
accumulations should be pretty localized and most likely confined to
grassy areas. Expect convergence zone activity through out the day
today...shifting further north by afternoon and lingering through
the evening into Saturday morning. Mountain snow accumulations will
likely remain just under advisory amounts...though heavier
accumulations are possible with the pscz. Overall temperatures will remain
well below normal through the weekend with maximum temperatures
struggling to break out of the middle 40s. Nighttime lows will be near AND

:D:D:D As a precaution we ARE rigging one truck with a plow and sander at the end of the shift today.
It's way easier to do so in the daylight instead of in the middle of the night with little or no sleep while it's snowing.

I'm hoping it clears up and you guys get to run today and tomorrow. That way I could come down and at least bench race and shoot pics/video.

Gonna get off here and start getting things rounded up. Gotta get my TA-50 prepped for cold weather. Imbibing will only go so far tonight at 30*.

For all you guys without an Army background
TA-50 is a short version of CTA-50-900 which is the Common Table of Allowances. In this, it lists the special equipment to be issued to each soldier for his particular duty position AS WELL as geographic location.

You can bet the Alaska guys and those at Ft Drum, NY get some serious cold weather gear while at Ft Polk, LA...probably just field gear and wet-weather clothes. Armored vehicle crewmen and aviators get special stuff too.

When I went to Iraq, I had two full duffle bags, a full large ruck, an assault pack, body armor vest with ceramic inserts, helmet, ammo pouches etc, etc.
Cold weather gear because, yes, it does get frikkin cold there in IRAQ and it does snow in the winter! The total value of stuff signed-for from the Central Issue Facility was well over $6000. Mark, what was your total since you've been to CIF recently...?
Thanks for listening...now back to the weather for Bremerton

Scary cold here this morning, looked pretty nasty....some improvement but no blue showing, just gray

Mike,
Travel light, freeze at night! "You get ONE piece of snivel gear."

Guys... I think i'm gonna have to bail on ya...

My plans have been kind of messed up, since no countertop today- i'm going to spend the day wrenching on my car (since i havn't really been able to all winter, except for my birthday a few weeks back)

I'd love to hang out, but if there is no racing going on... i'd have to leave now to get down there and miss traffic, and i'm torn between drinkin beer and bench racing with ya all, or spending the day wrenching to get my car rockin... So i think wrenchin is going to win.. :(

If the weather lets you guys race i hope you do good! Mark... Sorry i didn't get to shake your hand one more time, but we'll see ya on the net!

I'll be out under the car trying to keep the small parts of my tranny from getting lost...Feel free to call me and harass me if you guys are bored. Drink a few :beers: for me!

We've got two trucks set up for snow and we're ready.

My supervisor just called from home to tell me it's white and windy in Enumclaw.

Nothing here in Fall City yet.:noway:

One more hour I get to go home and play with my car for 30-45 minutes and see if I can figure out what's up.

After that it's a school function with my kids.

How's the shift kit coming Ben?
