guys,

I just installed an Air/Fuel mix gauge and decided to take it for a spin.

Im running rich on normal driving (it goes briefly stoich when i let of the gas to shift), but when I punch it, it goes WAY lean and stays lean until I let off the gas.

I have a Mighty Demon 750 on my 468. Stock fuel pump and a ceapo fuel filter between pump and carb (ill replace that with a K&N shortly).

Any ideas?

thanks

I was running a 110 gph Holley fuel pump and a cheapo inline fuel filter and the engine would go lean on the top end of the 1/4 mile (engine would lay down and pop). I replaced the fuel pump with a Holley 130gph pump a Holley regulator and a 140gph Proform fuel filter. The problem was solved - No popping, engine did not lay down, and gained 2 tenths and 3 miles an hour in the 1/4. A stronger fuel pump and a $25 regulator should clear your problem out.

Does it go lean when you accelerate, but not full throttle?

Have you played with jets and powervalves yet?

it appeared to go lean only when i nailed it. on light acceleration, it was rich (my car is always rich). but there is a hesitation on acceleration from a cruise (pump cam??)

i havent played with jets or PVs or cams yet. thats why i bought the gauge smile.gif

any ideas?
