: Help make my truck sound bad

Hi everyone. Well my chevelle is in the shop so I don't have anything that sounds bad or anything to work on. I'd like to change the exhaust from the cat back, but as least and cheap as possible with a loud bellowing sound. My truck is a 92 chevy 1500, everyone gives me crap because it has the SS striping on it and only has a 4.3liter v6. I put a glasspack on it about 3 months ago, but I want a louder//cheap exhaust on. I was thinking bout replacing some of rusted piping after the cat with new 2'1/4" tubing, add a dnyomax race magnum bullet muffler, and keep my tailpipe. Think that would make much of a sound difference and performance increase or what do you think I would need to do? Thanks.

If you already have a glass pack the biggest bang for your buck would probly be headers.

Other than that i don't know why you'd wanna make a v6 1/2 ton loud tongue.gif

You need true dual exhaust, not 6 into 1 ,single exhause.

Take it the the shop and tellem to run dual pipes, that'll give you a racy sound.

Put a V8 in it.

All a louder exhaust will do, is advertise that much more clearly to all around, that your truck has too few cylinders.

Haha, somehow I knew that was coming. Thanks guys, maybe I'll just stick with what I have and spend some money on my chevelle :D .

-Dan Wise idea.

There are so many chevy and dodge trucks up here at school (Fayetteville) with loud exhaust, echo tips, even straight pipes on some and I haven't heard a one complimented for it...most think its lame.

how about getting headers for it, and then just run them. no exaust aftr. that would be the loudest. or get a v8 and run straight pipes. hehe.

my friend is buying a 77 F150 with a 4spd and a 351 punched out. he is gunna run straight 3"pipes to 4" stacks on it. talk about getting introuble with it.
