I Bought Flowtech headers. Great fit. 1-7/8 with 3" collector.

Used std motor mounts. Fits fine, also with Hei.

3" filter will fit on a dropbase cleaner.

Jim, I used Hedman headers in my 65 but I believe they are for an automatic only. I'm thinking that getting the headers to fit the clutch linkage/z-bar is going to be the biggest challenge. Hood clearance depends on which intake you plan on running, a Edlebrock Air-Gap will fit but you can only run a 2-1/2" tall filter on a Moroso dropped base (the deepest drop I could find). If you run the 502 GM intake or a Edelbrock Performer intake the 3" element will work. I also have an HEI and it has plenty of room. Energy Suspension short motor mounts are what you'll need for that 502's torque. Do a search on for BBC 64&65 in the different forums here and you'll find some really good info.

Here's a pic of mine with the BBC.
