Whats a good set of valve covers that would fit an original 70 396 block and heads? I like the chrome ones.

If you want valve covers that don't leak oil around the gasket area, get the cast aluminum ones and use a high quality gasket. The stamped steel "chrome" ones very often seep or leak oil.

I agree!
I really like the Dart cast covers on my BB but I did have to machine holes in them for breathers and a fill plug. Not a problem, though.

Our sponsor, Ground Up, also carries a nice set of finned aluminum covers with a " 396 Turbo Jet " logo on them. They are very sharp.

Email me at 81vette4speed@cox.net. I have a set of new chrome GMPP ones, tall, CHEVROLET embossed that I'd let go for cheap. G/M part number 12342099. Thanks!
