Thanks, Actually I was meeting up with some folks from Piedmont Classic Cars at 9:30 at McDonalds US 401 and 70 in Garner and then we were all crusing together to Selma. http://www.selmacarclassic.com/

No I am kicking myself for not taking any, it came out so nice. I did not buy the kit from Chevy 5 -Speed. I bought a new TREMEC locally from Campbell Gear Tech near Charlotte. They do a lot of these swaps and he knew exactly what I needed and had all the parts. When I drove over to pick it up he even gave me a quick review of the best way to go about it and some tips on marking up the floor.

I used my jig saw to cut the floor. Bought some sheet metal from Lowes and cut, hammered and shaped it to fit. Painted it with POR-15 Black. I bought a Bicycle tube from Wal-mart and cut it and put it on the edges as a gasket and used short self tapping screws to attach it to the floor. Screwing it down was the way to go, it made installing the TKO easier. I installed the TKO without the offset shifter, once it was in then I installed the shifter, marked it up and cut the new tunnel cover so it had a 1/4" around the shifter. Reinstalled the floor gasket and ring over it.

I used the bracket from the original floor for the console and set the console in and shimmed it up in the middle about 3/8 inch. Screwed the bracket to the new cover. Took the console out, put down some insulating material layed the carpet, reinstalled the console and it was perfect. I had a local truck repair place shorten my drive shaft, they installed the u-joints, cut, balanced and painted it for $65.00 in one day.

The Trans swap took less time and was easier to do than the 4 wheel Disc Brake Conversion that was suppose to be an easy bolt on kit.

Good Luck.
