I'm going to try some bracket racing at my local track in 2005. Never done any type of racing just the t@t deal. I know there are alot of ya'll that bracket race so I'm just looking for basic suggestions that might help me my first time out and beyond.
Thanks!

David, be sure to have fun.
It doesn't appear that you are asking what bracket racing is, but I'm not sure what you are seeking. You know that good reaction times still count, and that you want a realistic dial in that you can get really close to without being too quick. The old Bomber '67 would pull consistent 13.16 to 13.21 e.t.'s, so I would dial in at 13.26 e.t. Some people like to use a practice tree if your reaction times are inconsistent or slow. If you have treaded street tires then avoid the burnout box - even if it makes you slower, you will be tons more consistent. Consistency is what wins bracket racing - being able to run the dialed in number.
There are one or two books written on bracket racing, search them out at you nearby bookseller or scan the internet booksellers.

Thanks for the replies! I made approx 30 passes in 2004 on t@t night. I've been working on the tree and shift points. The Monte is fairly consistant 13.1? to 13.2?. My r/t 's have gotten better and at the end of Oct was cutting .010 to .020 lights. I hope with the rear suspension upgrades and new fuel pump she will run consistant 12.9? with good 60' times. I'm running M/T ET Streets and like them.
Again Thanks!!
