Ok guys I pulled the 383 out since the head gasket went so now what changes should I make??

I would like 12 sec. My old combo gave me a 13.2 @ 106mph with a 2.0 60ft thru 40 series flows.
I'm looking for just a little more power.
I'm gonna zero deck the block and mill and cc the AFR'S. Hopefully go with a fel 1010. I had a Comp XE284h for a cam but thinking of going with a solid this time. Pistons are KB hyper with 4 valve reliefs. Thinking about grinding the rings in case I need a 100hp shot or so. I was told that was about all the hyper pistons can handle.
Other stuff is B&M gear drive gonna replace with double roller, scat crank, 5.7 rods arp bolts.Dyno max shorties (1 5/8) Kinda small but the car is lowered 2.5 inches in front and clearance could be a prob for kansas roads...also Edel Rpm Air gap
Any suggestions?? What to do or not to do?? Hope to take it to machine shop end of next week so I need some suggestions

What connects your AFR's to your Flows? A little application of physics in this area may get you into the 12's easily. The 106 mph trap speed it mid-12's with a good launch. A 2-second 60' time just won't cut it.

I would look at a smaller cam - something in the 225-230 degree range to bring up the torque you need to get the car going. We ran a 228 degree Erson hydraulic in a 3500# 385" sbc that ran 12.1 @ 112 with iron heads, RPM and a Q-jet.

Get your dynamic compression to 8-8.2 to make the best power. If you go solid, I'd try and keep .050 durations in the 220-230 range.

I said this before in another one of your post, but I'll say it again. Your combo as it sits has the potential to go A LOT faster than 105.6mph. Your other post also said you had an Air Gap already

Yes I already have the Air Gap...Now how Do I make sure my dynamic Compression Ratio is between 8 and 8.2??
Pistons were at about 32 thousandths in the hole and now I am gonna zero deck .. I'm gonna learn this yet guys...

thanks
