: Turbo/Supercharger boost?

I have a 70 Elky with a 307 that I just redid the top end on (rebuilt heads w/hardened seats, new springs, 272 deg cam kit). The single exhaust system was completely rusted out, so I need to replace it completely. I was thinking of doing a dual exhaust, when the 4-banger tuner in me thought "why not build up a turbo system into it?" I have stock bottom end components and I just double checked the spec for the CR to be 9.0:1. How much boost could I realistically run with a single turbo on the stock bottom end without blowing up the engine? Would it even be worth my trouble, or would I be better off investing my time, energy, and cash into a 350/383 high comp engine with the dual exhaust? Any and all help, advice, tips, and cash donations are greatly appreciated in advance (as always).

I looked into a turbo setup for my car & what you are talking about it completly doable, its a matter of how much time, effort & $$$ you want to put into it. I think that it would be a cool project & if you keep it mild, you could use it as a daily driver. I would do the mods to the carb & go blow through rather than draw through for drivability sake.

here is a good site for help with blow through setups http://www.boards2go.com/boards/board.cgi?&user=huntracers & there are other folks @ http://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/forumdisplay.php?s=22e479c9892be49c3e59019dfd40eb6 5&forumid=15 that have done it as well.
