: My wife found out about my new parts...

Well all winter I have been buying parts and stashing them away. Heads, cam, intake, carb, rockers, headers, distributer, fuel pump, fuel lines, gears, posi unit, drag shocks, new upper/lower rear links...to much to keep typing.:disco:

So anyways I was putting on the new heads today c/w rollers and my wife came in to my work room. I looked like the cat that eat the canary..

She took one look at what I was doing and just stopped dead in her tracks.. I thought ok here goes 30 years of married..:(

She looked at me and looked again at my Bright shiny NEW Aluminum heads..

And then out it came...Those are the most beautiful things...I have ever seen. Then she said she was happy to see me with something this nice....

I then reminded her about a talk we had this winter about my spending, on the car. She then told me it was well worth it....

God I love this woman......Been my wife for 30 years. Had 3 children. 2 girls and a fine son. Now we have 7 grande children and my son and daughter inlaw told us today they are having a child in 7 1/2 months...:hurray:

lucky guy Mike! my wife once told me if we needed a bigger house, the truck would have to go. I replied the truck told me if we needed a bigger garage she'd have to go. she didn't think it was as funny as I did. Imagine that :D.

The next question is what does she want or what did she already buy. :)

Maybe we should come up with a "Car guys wife of the year award" or trophy or something. I'm helping my friend build a tube chassis 66 Nova and I marvel at his wifes support for him and his project. We're talking big bucks here and the woman just tells him, "if it makes you happy honey" then do it. They have a great pair of kids and co raise them. Something nice to see these days. Looks like this thread starter has a great one too.:hurray:

Thats OK. I took the wife out to shoot for the first time... she didn't like the .357 SIG so much but was OK with the .40. We got home and she saw me looking at the new SIG 556 rifle, her response was, "should we get that?"

Ummm, HELL YEAH WE SHOULD.

I also got the go ahead on a new Ruger LCP .380.

My wife knows the 72 came long before her, if it could talk I would be divorced.
To her credit she is really supportive of my hobby. She says that she would rather have me in the garage working and not running around, she knows where I am. As for the money, yes the projects go overboard sometimes and the bills run up. No matter what you do though it costs money. At least you have something in the end besides memories.

Ryan was washing the Mustang yesterday and he's real anal about water drips...so the wife sees him circling the car wiping down all the little drips and says to him , jokingly ......"you have issues".
He replies ... "oh yeah, you should see what's going on in the other garage" :clonk:, now....she really doesn't hassle me about what I do with the cars unless I hassle her about her spending.... which I do regularly, :D so she walks over and sees me under the 66 and says " I thought you only had to fix the 69" of which I replied "well it depends on what you mean by fix";):D

Hey a member from Lacombe, Alberta Canada.
Just about moved there two years ago. My oldest daughter lives there.
Been there many times..Didn't see your Chevelle though ...I'm always watching for old cars.
I did see a 66 Lemans though. Maybe I will retire there some day.
Nice small town and close to Red Deer..

My wife has always been supportive of this "addiction'. She's at the point now though where she won't come in the garage. A friend of hers asked her once if she knew what all the stuff in the garage was worth? She answered with I don't even know what it is. Her friend replied "You better because its worth a lot". Now she asks what will happen if something happens to me.

Made me stop and think and ensure that a trusted friend is aware of what is there and what to do with it if something ever happens. Hopefully it will be many years from now, but. And then theres moving it all next year;)

BTW Mike, we are looking at Red Deer/Lacombe area as well. 1 more year in Fort McMurray then head south.:hurray:

I'll enter my wife's video as proof of a super cool wife. When I got home from overseas, she didn't want me to buy a 68 Charger I was looking at for $5,000, but she was ok with me spending $15,000 for parts on the Chevelle.:D

........how cool is that?!
