Looking for a high quality 2" cowl induction hood for my 68 SS Chevelle, most of the ones I have found are 4" and bigger! Anyone have any suggestions?

Looks like they quit making a 2" fiberglas hood. I looked at the only 3 vendors I would use and don't see one available. Goodmark makes it in steel.

I have a 2 inch hood (glas) for my 68 pro street tongue.gif

IMO the 4 inch hood looks pretty good (getting one for my 70) and the harwood has a nice smooth under side.

I think the Glasstek 4" CI bolt on hood looks great!

Just noticed that Glasstek has 68/69 El Camino doors too. Interesting since the doors interchange on El Caminos all the way from '68 to '72. Wish they had a pic.

Follow the links to my pictures. The hood is a custom by Glastek. It is a 67 Z-28 cowl grafted onto a flat 68/69 hood. It was finished great on the topside but took some work on the backside to get a high gloss finish inside and out. I beleive they charged me about $80.00 over the cost of a flat hood to build it. I think it is worth every penny. It adds a bit less than 2 inches.

It would be nice if they made a 2" Z28 style STEEL hood for a 70-72. . . .

Redrum- Very nice! I saw the pics in the "Best Fiberglass Hood" post, and called Glastek to ask about it. They told me they didnt make a 2"
I will call them back now and ask them about the custom job, thanks a bunch!

Slowpoke - I believe Goodmark industries makes a STEEL 70-72 2" hood...

Thanks everyone :D

As far as i know, all they sell is the SS domed hood. It is 2 inches i guess, but not a Z28 style 2 inches.

this is the stock SS hood.

this is what a Z28-style 2inch hood looks like.

As far as i know, only usbody makes the z-style hood for the chevelle, and only in fiberglass.

Glasstek can build you whatever you want, for an additional cost. I've got a Glasstek 2.5" cowl hood on my 69 El Camino. You can click on the link in my sig and scroll down to see it.
