While priming an engine with oil, should you rotate the engine, spin the pump, rotate more, spin the pump, etc etc until you complete a full rotation? Or is it ok to just prime the pump while the engine is at TDC and leave it at that? Just curious. I was told to prime, rotate, prime rotate, etc..... but it's going to be a pain in the butt to do.

I think some people like to turn the engine 180 degrees then re-prime so you can be sure you get oil in all rockers, but not positive on that.

sounds right. It's ok to turn it back counterclockwise by hand right? Or is it better to just complete the cycle for all 8 cylinders and bring it back to TDC?

All you need to do is make sure all rockers get oil. I start at tdc then go 90 180 270 bdc.You might have to do this a couple of times.

So basically just pop the valve covers off.....and make sure I see oil coming from ALL of the rockers while I prime it? If oil isn't coming out of some of the rockers should I just rotate the engine more and prime it again? Thanks
