Does anyone know where I can get a black lid for a cowl induction air cleaner. i have looked at all of the usual catalogs, and the only one I see is one company sells a chrome one, but I have never seen an original chrome one. Mat ACES #2424

Check out swap meets for rusty chrome ones. A sand blast and paint and you are in business. Plating costs more than buying new as I have just found out from a local plating shop.

I remember that Original Parts Group used to sell them separately but I don't know if they still do.

Check with Ground up, our host. You will probably have to buy the whole thing.

OPG still sells them, but only in chrome, and I dont want chrome. How easy is it so blast off chrome. i have a good bead blaster, but dont want to end up with a rough surface. Mat ACES #2424

Elli, National Parts Depot has a chrome cover. Mine was also chrome and I used sandpaper and primer. I then painted it semi-gloss black. One year later it still looks good.

Don't know about bead blasting, but you can get a real good surface with sand blasting and that will hold paint very well. Might be the way to go with this. tom
