After help in this group about which Holley to get to replace my 850DP, I have decided to go with the Holley 950HP Model 4150 HP (Holley part number HLY-0-80496-1). I am currently using a drop based air cleaner with the 850 (I think the base drops 1 3/4 inches)for hood clearance.
Is anyone using a drop based air cleaner with the above carb ?

I had a parts store drop base on my 950HP, worked fine. I then added a 1" spacer under the carb and the drop base didn't drop enough. Now I have a GM repro drop base that drops like 3 inches. That works too, except for a few modifications. Unless you are using the GM, it should work mint.

I'm using a drop base air cleaner also with a one inch spacer so the air cleaner clears my Holley throttle cable bracket.
