Just got the new 700 with stage 2 kit in and it's being kinda stubborn.

The 1-2 shift is VERY firm (I hade a stage 2 in my 350 too but this is hard even with little throttle)

The main problem I'm having is with behavior, it has to have full throttle for a downshift and under no circumstances will it do a double downshift.

I have checked to set the TV at full open at WOT, what else could it be?

I don't think thats how you set the TV cable. It's self adjusting to a point if you have the throttle to bracket spacing right. You need to push the button, slide the slider all the way back into the cable itself. Then mash the gas, it will ratchet to set itself. Then adjust one click as nessecary.

I forget which way makes the shifts sooner/later. Sounds like everything is happening too late.

Actually it's shifting too soon, but the 1-2 is too hard.

Someone mentioned a special adapter for Holley carbs, does anyone know anything about this?

OK, we made a TV readjustment bracket for a Holley so now the 1-2 shift isn't brutal.

However, it is still bogging after every shift but 3-4 and it will not kick down more than 4-3 unless I'm going right at the border of the low speed shift point...so basically I'm without "passing gear" and the car drives like crap.

I hate this transmission so far. If we can't get it to downshift and shift properly its going to cost me fuel milage.

Sounds like the geometry is off. Try www.powerglide.com (http://www.powerglide.com) I think they have one. PN AS2-02K.

Replaced the gov and now shifting has improved, but still no downshifting other than 4-3
