: My Procar seats, re-covered w/ 69 parchment
Derek69SS Apr 11th, 08, 6:57 PM I want to keep my interior looking very "stock", but after a month of driving the car with the new AFX spindles and sticky tires last year, I knew there was no way I'd be autocrossing or open-tracking my car while sliding around on stock bucket seats. :noway:
I wanted as stock looking of seat as possible, but with bolsters to keep me in place. I decided on the Scat/Procar Rally 2000... kind of 1/2 way compromise between stock and a racing bucket. I had a local upholstery shop (Austin Awning, Austin MN) re-cover them using a rear-seat kit, and about 3.5-yds of matching parchment vinyl from Legendary Auto Interiors.
Don't mind the wrinkles, they should come out with a little bit of sun & heat. :)

I ended up with way more invested in the seats than I had originally hoped, but the result is exactly what I wanted.
MJRIBEIRO Apr 11th, 08, 7:22 PM Very nice Derek!

Sedanman Apr 12th, 08, 2:41 PM That looks great. Post a pic when you get them in the car.
clean7t Apr 12th, 08, 3:38 PM Man those turned out nice. I love mine though they are the factory black.
Rantheman Apr 12th, 08, 4:40 PM nice seats those were what i was going to use very nice choice let me know if they are comfortable.
Derek69SS Apr 12th, 08, 5:57 PM Really nice work amigo! Maybe I'll be lucky enough to see them in person sometime soon!Power-Tour in Rochester... I'll be there for sure, and maybe Madison on Friday too. If I don't meet up with you there, I should be attending Car Craft this year.
That looks great. Post a pic when you get them in the car. Will do... I am doing some things with my interior that should set it apart from the rest, (while still looking very stock-ish) so I'll be posting lots of pictures. :)
Looks stock, but not. Excellent! That's exactly what I'm going for.
nice seats those were what i was going to use very nice choice let me know if they are comfortable. If you're a big guy, you might not like them, but they seem very comfortable to me. My only concern is getting in & out over the bolsters. I sat in a friend's 70 Chevelle with the same seats, and it seemed OK for the driver, using the wheel for a handle, but the passenger side has nothing to pull yourself up on.
They do recline, which will help for long trips with the family.

Those look like stock seats on steroids! Nice job.
When you put those in are you using their sliders? Let us know how the seat height is after you install them compared to factory buckets. That's one thing I've been reluctant on the Procar seats-I hate sitting up in the headliner.
daveseitz Apr 12th, 08, 9:33 PM Derek, the bolsters were a little weird getting used to getting in and out of Ricks car. But if a Crabby old guy like him can crawl over and into the seats hey you should be good to go.
Derek69SS Apr 12th, 08, 11:01 PM Yeah Dave, I'm not so worried about myself getting in them, but passengers who might not be very careful putting all their weight on the bolsters sliding into place and wearing them out. :(
Doug, I will be using their sliders. I'm a short guy, so a little extra height won't bother me. :)
lail1985 Apr 14th, 08, 11:42 AM Derek,

Beaux Apr 17th, 08, 11:22 AM Fantastic! You had the headrests re-done just like I want to do when I get em (so that the pleat pattern is gone from the headrest)

nice! those are great seats for the money.Yes they are... until you add nearly $1000 in labor and material to recover them. :o It ended up being way more than I had ever planned to spend on seats. :clonk:
They look awesome Derek. Maybe I will get to see them in person someday..lol.I'll be at Chevelle-abration and the last couple days of the Hot-Rod Power Tour this year.
Fantastic! You had the headrests re-done just like I want to do when I get em (so that the pleat pattern is gone from the headrest)Yeah, that bothered me too. They just didn't look right with those vertical stitches.

Dandydynodon May 21st, 08, 8:42 PM are they the seats you can get from summit?
micky69396 May 21st, 08, 10:08 PM Those seats look nice, first time I have seen them without their covers on them. I can get the frames and foam for around $240 so not a bad buy. I may use them on the 70 ragtop were doing.
1badss396 May 21st, 08, 10:10 PM Derek, did you ever get that parchment dye?
Derek69SS May 22nd, 08, 5:22 PM any in-car pictures? Not yet, they've been in & out a few times for fitting, but the interior is still not complete. I should have it all together this weekend. :)
are they the seats you can get from summit?Yes they are, Procar Rally 2000 :)
Derek, did you ever get that parchment dye?No, I haven't had a chance to deal with it yet... are they local to you? If so, can you get me a couple cans and bring them to CB08? I used Legendary covers and door panels, so yours should be a match. I'll also have some other things for you to bring as well... things that go boom. :D Neighbor stopped over yesterday asking if I was going to see you anytime soon.
camcojb May 22nd, 08, 7:10 PM that looks great Derek. I like aftermarket seats, but with matching upholstery to the stock rear seat. :beers:
