I just bought a Hilborn style scoop for my tunnel ram. The problem is that My tunnel ram is 10 1/2" center to center and the scoop only adjusts to 9 1/4". BUT, I can make the scoop fit without having the air cleaners on. The scoop only has some kind of foam on the front with the screen and of course the bottom has a fairly large opening. I know the obvious thing to do is just to go with the velocity stacks, but I REALLY like the way the hilborn scoop looks. So the question is; Does anyone run without an air filter, or if I close up the opening in the bottom of the scoop, would the foam piece in the front of the scoop be enough? Or any other ideas?
