Can I use the complete disc brake set up on a 66 Chevelle from a 77 el Camino? I will use the entire set up A arms, steering components. Do any of you see any problems with that? I know that it is easy for many to run out and by a "kit" but the red neck in me just will not allow me to do that. Not with my hot rod heritage. I know that there are several cars that will easily exchange their parts to provide a 66 Chevelle with front disc. If this wouldn't work give me an Idea of how I should proceed? What donor cars to look for?
Thank you gentleman for your time.

68-72 A-bodies are easiest, but check the Tech section/tab above. There are articles there that will explain it all.

you can use the spindles (and nothing else) from the 77 Elco, but then the steering geometry is all out of whack and you will have fun getting it aligned unless you pony up some $$$ for some upper control arms for the infamous "tall spindle conversion".
i'm gonna say to either get rotors, calipers, master cylinder and caliper brackets for a 70 Chevelle- or get the rotors, calipers, and caliper mounts for an 84 and newer Vette or 93 and newer Camaro and put it on your stock drum spindles and hubs.
i'd do the latter- i did 94 Vette 12" brakes on the front of my 71 Nova, and it worked great. but wheel fitment was hit or miss on 15" wheels, but 16's fit perfect.
