The passenger side window on my '67 Malibu rattles big time when rolled partially or all the way down. Is there some sort of adjustment that I can make that holds the window steady in the down position? The drivers side window has no such rattle....

Thanks

Could be the window channel is loose. First you can check the chrome bolt located on the back of the door. If that is tight, you will have to remove the door panel.

Taking off the door panel will grant you access to the regulator & glass channels. Removing the door panel is simple on early Chevelles; Remove 4 screws & pop off 5 clips.

Once you have the panel off, check the nut on the bottom rear of the door, closest to the qtr panel. That nut along with the chrome bolt on the back of the door are the adjustments for the rear guide channel. They should be tight. If not, that would be a source of the rattle.

Make sure the rear guide is in place. The rear guide bolts to the rear of the window frame, & contains the rear up-stop. This would definitely cause a rattle if it was missing.

Next, check the channel on the Vent Window frame. The felt on the window guide may need replacing. Other than that, check for any loose bolts on the regulator.

Hope this helps.

What kind of shape are your window fuzzies in? If they are shot it will cause window rattling also.

The window fuzzies are less than a year old. Checked the chrome bolt in the door jamb and it is tight. Will remove the door panel and check the rear guide and guide channel. Thanks Pete 67....
