Found a 454 out of a '87 pickup. The auto recycler said the block had 'CEG'and some numbers stamped on it, but didn't sound like he wanted to take the time to pull the numbers off the block and heads. Correct me if I'm wrong, but this was the first year of all fuel injected 454's, and they would then have the small rectangular ported heads, correct?

Also, anyone have a link to all the breakdown codes for blocks and heads?

I'm trying to find some open chambered oval port heads which come with a 454.

That motor will have peanut port heads-not desirable for what you want.

If you want open chambered heads,you want 049's or 781's
