I'd like to know what temp thermostat I should use on my 350. I think the old one was a 192º one but I'm not sure. The engine runs up to 220º in the summer and when it sits for a while sometimes (is that too high of a temperature?). Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

If you don't drive your car in the winter, you could use a 160 degree theromostat. It will take your car for ever to get warm on those cold winter mornings though. I use a 180, but since I don't ever use the heater and don't drive my car in the winter, the next time I change it I will use a 160.

Use a 180, if your cooling system is in good shape, in your neck of the woods, the car should seldom run above that. By cooling system in good shape I mean clean internally, (engine, radiator, heater core, etc.) and that the fan is properly installed with a shroud. If you've flushed the system and are convinced it's clean, and the temp. still runs up on you, you need to take your radiator in and have it gone through. If your radiator needs attention, it's not something that goes away, it will only get worse, until one day she blows, and it will always happen in rush hour gridlock somewhere!
