I've been on the phone with Jegs and Summit and they basiclly told me that they don't have a 7qt. oil pan that will fit a'67 with a small block and power steering, that's honestly what they told me.That can't be true.I'm building the engine and already have a Melling hv pump so I'll need the extra oil capacity.I know at least half the guys on this board are running bigger pans, where do I go?

I have a Moroso 7 QT pan (20191 which has the scraper and tray, the 20190 doesn't) on my SB in my 67 El Camino. It doesn't have PS but I don't see how that would matter. My 66 El Camino has PS and looking at the two cars I just don't see any problems using the Moroso pan. If you get the 20191, be sure to get the matching Moroso oil pick. I know the Milodon pick will not work and I doubt a stock one will either. I don't know what the pickup requirement is for the 20190 pan.

Thanks Pat.I don't know what power steering would have to do with the pan fitting either but that's what they're telling me.I see the pan listed but I don't see the pickup. Also,I know what a windage tray does but what exactly is the functionof the scraper. Thanks

A scraper a strip of metal positioned fairly close to the crank that helps remove oil from the spinning crank and direct to the pan.
For a Melling M55HV with the 20190 and 20191 pans, the correct pickup is Moroso PN 24350. For a Melling M77HV (BB pump) use PN 24320. These are heavy duty pickups with 10ga (1/8" thick) support straps. Here is Summit's listing (http://store.summitracing.com/default.asp?target=esearch.asp&N=100&Ntk=PartSearch&Ntt=mor-24350&x=11&y=7). They don't have the correct pickup pictured, though. But the PN is out of Moroso's catalog.

Has anyone used the Summit G3502 small block 7 quart pan and pickup? This pan looks just like the Moroso part and it's $50 cheaper. This seemed like a good place for this so I was just wondering if anyone has tried it.
I have a feeling it comes from Moroso because Moroso sells pickup & pump assemblies with a welded pickup and this Summit pan lists the pickup and pump assembly with the pickup welded and also a Moroso pickup in the suggested parts section. It also looks exactly like the Moroso pan in the picure.

Check into Canton oil pans. I'm real happy with mine. Good price too.
