I'm currently running a P255/60 R15 Kelly tire with
2.01 60ft times. Althought I can't floor it from a dead start without blowing the tires off at the drags, I was just wondering what other street radial tires were doing in the 60ft before I purchase some BFG Drag Radials.

I know a guy hitting 1.79 60fts on 215/70/15 street radials so bald he was giving spark showers during the burnouts
Have you considered the new M/T ET Street Radial tires instead of the BFG's? They look like their gonna be the new dominate drag radial ...but I bet they're the least fun to drive around on.

I run Nitto Drag Radials (p275 60 15), my best 60' so far has been a 1.85 I used to have Eagle ST's on there before and I could burn them forever. I dont think you can expect too much traction out of a "street" tire at the strip. JMO

Yeah , I have thought about those M/T Drag Radials. I drive my car about 10,000 miles a year so I was just looking for another sticky tire other than a drag radial that would last longer.

If I could get a 2.01 60' with my p315/35's at the strip I'd kiss the starting line at the end of the run...
Maybe I won't have the problem with the torque-killer new cam (grr) but if my foot got a little jumpy from the adrenaline I'd send the rear of the car to the side, so I'd always end up with like 2.2x 60's on street tires.
Course, I brought my ET streets (26*9.5) to NED once and got a 2.2 60', but same launch technique at LVD on a saturday netted me a 1.8, which for a lousy driver with a tiny tire (its like an 8.1" wide tread!) is good enough for me.

I turned a 60' time of 1.901 on 275 60 15 Firestone Firehawk SS20 series tires. I guess if maybe I had dropped the pressure a little, they may have hooked a little better. We shall see what kind of times I can turn at Music City Raceway in a few weeks graemlins/thumbsup.gif :D

My best 60ft is on some Kumho 711 245/50/16 and that's a 2.00
Got 2.1 out of some yokohama
Friend of mine got a 1.9 out of his Kumho 712 with the same specs.
2.3 in my S10 with Road Huggers. (of course no weight in the bed may have been part of the problem.)
2.0 is good for any street tire. I hear the average 60ft on MT/BFG are in the 1.5-1.7 range. Some suspensions yeilding better.
I'' get the MT ones. They last longer from what I hear and they also have more tread to the track.
