Im putting a pair of hedman headers on 396 el camino.
The problem is that I ordered full lenght ones (Hedman 68190) and I dont know if they will work with the 2 inch drop that I have:confused:
I might need shorty headers, but that's my second problem!'
Will shorty headers work with column shift automatic transmission???:confused:
I've got a bad feeling they won't!:(:(

Had a set of Hedman full length headers on an old elky with 454 column shift auto, only sat maybe 1" below the frame
was a 68 model using the perch motor mounts though - dunno if there is a difference there or not

I think will try to switch to shorty headers though to get max ground clearance. But I think I might have to modify that arm that goes from the steering column to the transmission.
It says on summitracing.com that it won't fit with steering column shifter, but I think I can make it happen:hurray:
