I recently made the decision to switch my front drums to disc on my '66 Chevelle (small block) but I was unsure if the kit I wanted to buy would work with my 14" rally wheels. I like the wheels and want to keep them...plus I don't really have the extra funds to buy new wheels. So, I went to a friends house today, who has a '67 GTO with aftermarket front disc and I put one of my wheels on there and it got hung up on the caliper. So, now I guess I'll go with power drums and hope that works good. I currently have a single master cylinder on the car...so it surely will be better than that. My question: Will an 11" booster and duel resevor master cylinder from a '65 Chevelle work?
If not, I'm prepared to buy what I need just looking for a good deal for the right equipment. Thanks.

How much did it hang up and how much wheel clearance do you have to the outer fender well? The reason I ask is you could go with spacers or adapters to get the clearance you need.

It looks like about 3/8 to 1/2" Thanks.

I also forgot to mention that the kit is not the same as I would be purchasing...but the guy that I want to buy yhe kit from said he can not guarantee that it will not rub, although he did say that he has not had any problems in the past with customers.
I also wanted to ask...how do you put spacers in? I've never done that before. Thanks.

There's two kinds - spacers just slide over your existing wheel lugs - but if you use them you should replace your studs with some from extra hard ones from ARP - The better solution is a wheel adapter, but the minimum thickness is 3/4" - they bolt on like your wheel, but then have an extra set of lugs that hold the wheel on. Easier to see than explain.
