this sucks! have a moroso oil pan on my 383 and the plug is stripping out. what have you guys done with these, helicoil? drill out for a bigger plug?

They make slightly oversize plugs with self cutting threads, just for that situation.

Check the parts stores till you find one.

kewl, didn't know that. guy at the parts store didn't know either, guess il check tomorrow.

ok, question about these oversize plugs. do i have to worry about the welds inside the pan going, how much will it take to tighten one of these? can't remember how good the nut is welded inside moroso pan's.

Just go to napa and get the next oversize from the standard size. It's a self tapping deal that you just screw in. I put some grease on the plug to help pick up the metal debris. Then remove the plug and clean, put the plug back in hand tight and pour some oil in the pan. Then drain to hopefully flush out whatever metal is in the pan.

ok, now that i think about it i think i have seen the repair plugs beside the other ones, just never picked up on what the slots were for on the plug;)
