Donnie. Mine both look the same. I'm trying to find out. What kind did guys put in their cars & are they happy with them. Mine are two on each end. But in bad shape. If guys went to after market ones. Or original ones reworked. Main thing are they happy with them. I hate buying stuff twice!! Just found a place not far from home that will redo my speakers. But its too late to call them now. Have to wait till tueday. I don't want to go to best buy and have some 18 yr old work on my car. I don't need speakers thats going to make my paint fall off. Just want to be able to hear it. When the cars running down the road. Thanks Rick

I'm not usre if they have what you need but it would certainly be worth a phone call. S&M ElectroTech has replacement speakers with better magnets than what was used in the originals. I point this out only because re-coning original speakers only makes them serviceable again - it doesn't make them better.

Give Greg or Dan a call at S&M and see what they can offer you. You won't be disappointed.

angle the speaker with a few washers,(left bolts)and that moves the magnet left.. and it just clears.. with a little grinding on the magnet

Rick, I got some from one of the venders, I was not happy with them, they sounded terrible; reminded me of the early hand held transistor radios. Tried Best buy, the magnet, was way to big on the left side. It’s really tight there in the SS dash (mines a 72). Good luck if you find something let us know.

I got mine from this place. They fit well, even the driver's side, and sound good. Scroll down to about the middle of the page and you'll see the Chevelle dash speakers.

I used a set of 4" Infinity's. There was no problem with the passenger side, but lots of fab work to the drivers side was necessary. I had to get clearance for the light switch and dash framework, but i got them in there. If I had to do it again, I''d use a 3" speaker to give me more room on the drivers side. With a Kenwood reciever and a pair of 6 X 9 Infinity's in the deck, this system kicks!!

I used 3.5" JBL speakers though I have the standard dash it is tight but instead of using the braket I have them glued to the metal and resting on the light switch been this way for 13 years now no issue and still sound good.

i was looking into this as well. although i thought the dash had a mono speaker in the center, i could be wrong. as long as modern 6x9's fit in the back fine i am good.

I used pioneer 4x6's. I had to modify the original bracket to fit the speakers and was able to get enough clearance to make them work.
