: Plugs in block near oil pan

guys - I have a GMPP BBC 454 - on the drivers side, bottom of the block, where the oil pan mounts there are two pipe fitting pugs, just ahead of the oil filter. What do you think they're for? Oil cooler? I think they're leaking so I'm going to pull them out and reseal them in the next oil change - I just wanted to be prepared in case they are actually in a water jacket. Thanks!

They are oil, couple of them are used for coolers, I think their existance could be traced to the need to drill from here to there to intersect with a passage going another direction

Thank's Dave - I think the assemblers forgot to use thread sealant.....
