Use a propane torch to heat the mirror bracket.
The trick to taken the bracket off is to keep the torch as close to the bracket 1/2 inch away to heat the bracket as fast as you can.Use a pillars to hold pressure on the bracket at the same time. Soon as the bracket starts to turn off shut off the torch.
Make sure to keep the flame off the glass by keeping torch close to bracket.
Hold LIGHTSTEADY pressure on the bracket with pillars

Use a propane bottle torch to heat the mirror bracket.
Hold LIGHT STEADY pressure on the bracket with pillars, The heat will release it. If you try to twist it off,it could break the glass out of the windshield.
Should only take 10 seconds or less to heat. Let the glass cool down by itself.

A little solvent allowed to run down and around the metal plate (high grade thinner, acetone etc.)

I pried up the sides as much as I could with a screw driver and squirted goof off in the seams and pressed it back in place let it set overnight and it pulled right off in the morning. Please be careful with goof off it will take color right out of vinyl and melt most plastics.
