: Power steering pics needed
69ChevelleMalibuG Apr 6th, 08, 12:35 PM I can not find my before pics anywhere for my 69 Chevelle w/350 engine. I have all of the brackets for power steering and alternator but can not figure out how they go. There was originally an after market ac unit so there are extra brackets that I won't be using.
What makes it harder is that none of them resemble those being used on my 76 Elky. I am now trying to remember if the alternator was on the drivers side (not like the elky) cuz my brackets are wayyyy different. Also added headers to the equation..... I'm betting this means I will need different brackets......Ughhh
If anyone has an original set up for this I would love to see it! Then I can figure out what changes to make... I wondered if the aftermarket"chrome kits" are for with or without headers??...
Thnx!!

You do know that you can save those to your hard drive, right?
nolimitpkr Apr 8th, 08, 1:32 AM Hey, Mark I am in Vegas too, I have a simple Power Steering set up on one of my 68's(with headers), you can check it out if you want, or I can post some pics. I am no expert but I am willing to help.
Are you running a long water pump???
nolimitpkr Apr 8th, 08, 1:38 AM Found a Pic that is decent, you can kind of see the bracket I made for the head. Nothing bolts to the header, and the other brackets can easily be purchased from ebay, for 10-15 bucks....

Anytime I am always down to BS about Chevelles, ect.
Here is an auction for the two pieces of the bracket... Then I just fabricated the last part that bolts to the head....

69ChevelleMalibuG Apr 9th, 08, 1:05 AM Have both parts already! Just needed to sort them out from the 'extra brackets" that came with car for AC pump. I'm going to try and run same set up as my 76 camino w/ alternator on passenger side. I may need to do the retro bracket as seen in your pic.
I have a belt crank pulley but kept the original 3 piece set just in case they don't line up... Not installing the a/c...I know- i should have kept it all but it was not factory and was a floor mount hunk of junk....
I'm just about set to put it all together..need to get inner fenders and I may have lined up a set locally for $60..Guy says they were from a 70..Need to see if they will fit a 69..
I need to pay my TC dues so i can post pics! I love this site!!
