Hi. I'm trying to find a way to hide all of the electric cables in the engine bay, but I cant see a good way to hide the battery's ground cable:confused:
Any Ideas? Pic's will help;)

The ground is the easy one - its in the corner by the inner fender well. I would think the positive would give you more trouble. How about side mounts - and run them close to the battery outboard to the fender well area....Or mount the battery inside a larger box that would hid the connections....

If you wanted to get anal about hiding them you could spin the battery around and / or get a side mount style battery. Get a super bitchen heavy duty + battery cable and get a long enough piece of 3/8 fuel line or even Braided SS and fish the battery cable through the line.
Then route the positive cable down and through the frame, Come out rear of the front tires by the fire wall and come around the exhaust in route to the starter.
For the - cable route straight down and hit the frame by the core support. Then get another short - cable on under the car go from the frame to the body.
Just make sure the battery cant move and if it does the pos and neg cant come in contact with the core support.
Battery shorts will burn a car to the ground.
Thats how I am going to do it. That set up would be super

Usually, if going to that level of "un-clutteredness" the battery is already in the trunk.

I don't know what car the original poster has, but with an El Camino you are limited. Well, the above ideas will work, and if you go an Optima type battery it can be mounted anywhere, and in any direction, so if there's a spot under the car............;)

Otherwise, side posts facing the radiator support looks good.

DON"T USE BRAIDED SS FOR POSITIVE CABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I worked on a car that did that and it resulted in a near MAJOR MELTDOWN!

Thanks for all the answers, I'we already placed the positive inside the frame and back to the starter, but the ground must be connected to the engine(?) and I was thinking about running it between the inner fender and fender, then coming down along the firewall and connect it to one of the bolts between the engine and tranny.

The braided line running by the header gets hot and melts the insulation, when we pulled the engine it was ready to short out completely. Evidence of arcing was already present when pulled. All of the braided line crap went into the trash after that.

Good/super advise - One nick/wire exposure and your whole cable is one long contact point and will create an expanded heat zone - - major meltdown.

I need to edit my first post. You still would need a neg cable from the frame to the motor and from the frame to the body. You could hook one up to the bell housing.
Also my braided line idea was for additional insulation through the frame area. You would need to route as well as support the pos cable carefully around the exhaust.

For some reason I cant post pic's so I have to post the link to a Norwegian page where you could see the build and the result of the engine bay.
Enjoy
