I believe the car was a standard shift in the beginning. I want to install the automatic console. Theres a 1 inch lip around the shifter hole in the hump. I have the console but dont know if the shifter bolts to the sheet metal hump with or with out the lip. Do i need to cut the lip off. Does the shifter get installed thru the bottom of the car or does it simply get screwed to the floor boards thanks Bob 1969 chevelle ss
