Just installed a serpentine belt kit on a 350 in my 68 wagon. Alternator has a slightly different wiring plug. New four wire plug has all white wires. One is larger then the other three. I'm assuming this is my + which ties into the battery post. What about the other wires? One must be for the idiot light, I know nothing about the wiring in these things. As you can see though someone already converted to a single wire system (bypassed regulator)

You have a CS 130 alternator. You can get a conversion kit to use it in you car, GM external regulator to GM "CS" series internal regulator.

Looks to me like the internal regulator mods have already been made. The connector in the bag has 4 wires its basically the same as this (http://www.chevelles.com/showroom/data/500/CSconnect.jpg) just different wire colors and one additional wire. The large wire "S" is the remote sense, connect it to the horn relay. The next wire "F" is not used. Next is the "L" wire, its for the GEN light, the white wire in your pic will connect to it. The last wire "P" is not used. The wire with the boot connects to the lug on the back of the alternator, in your pic it looks like it is almost touching the valve cover. It's the power output that wire connects to the horn relay, you might want to replace it with an 8 ga wire. If you do you can connect the "S" wire to it (the original output wire)

Summary- Connect the large "S" wire to the black wire, the wire with the ring terminal and boot. Connect the "L" wire to white wire of the old connector. Install a new 8 ga wire from the alternator output lug to the horn relay.

Now for the easy way to wire it. Connect the black wire to the alt output lug. Connect the white wire of the old connector to the "L" wire of the new connector. The remote sensing is not needed nor is the new 8 ga output wire. I recommend the remote sensing and the new 8 ga wire.

Thanks Colby, wasn't sure which of the 3 smaller gauge white wires was the gen light.

What is the remote sensing wire for? Sounds like it's not needed and the conversion plugs on the website undee posted seem to eliminate the wire.

It's measures the voltage for regulation. If not used the regulator measures the voltage at the output. If used the regulator measures the voltage at the location the sense wire is connected. It can make a differance.
