How much lift? I'm running 714 intake with #781's and a Crane girdle. Also, aluminum heads have problems with studs pulling out of the heads, except I'm thinking that AFR and Brodix are the exceptions. Hmmm.

Not if you double helicoil the bastids and run the 1.5" long thread studs ( yeah they were setup tht way after I blew a rocker boss off).

.630 lift and yes Brodix say extra strong rocker stud boss's ?? I thought all about spring pressure at a certain point you need a girdle , unfortunately I don't have the spec's on the springs just know when I ordered heads I told them cam specs and they installed " up to .700 " lift springs .... Engine finally together just measuring for pushrod length and decide on intake .... had block powdercoated ... looks really chev orange :D

A .660 solid roller lift here and I'm using a custom manufactured stud girdle...darn canted/rotated valve angles on the Dart Pro I. :(

Those heads have a strong rocker stud mounting boss and you probably won't wind it past 6500. I wouldn't use one if it were my combo.

I don't use one, but my motor does not even see 6100 RPM.

292/303, .660/.666 solid roller, Canfield Aluminum Heads.

If you were using early GM aluminum heads like 074 castings I would say that you needed one for sure.

Bill, Nice motor pic. I like that fuel pump ;)

Good enough on the dyno to support a 1050 Dominator fed 696hp @ 6100 and never dropped below 5 psi.
I'll soon see how it performs under "real life" conditions.
I've got some doubting thomas experts that think otherwise...

I asked that question for that exact cam a few weeks ago. Do a search on stud girdle or on my name.
