I need a 396BB setup for a 1970 Chevelle. I am looking for something the will push the chevelle into the mid 13s with 3:73 and a muncie m-21.

Mid-13's shouldn't be hard... I think a stock 350/396 with a Performer Intake and cam upgrade should get you there. smile.gif

I gotta feeling that a good set of cheap 1.75" four tube, long headers may just be the best bang for your buck when a good free flowing exhaust is used too.

Then I would see about a cam and intake system change..

You might consider a CC 270 Magnum hy-cam and a good old Holley, 750 cfm, 3310- vacuum secondary carb. and an E-brock RPM intake.

I figure the 3310 should be just about right for your motor out of the box since it was made to run good on a 375hp/396 years ago..

This combination isn't all that earth-shaking but it should make great grunt which should/will move you very well. As always, jmho..

Please come back and tell us what you settle on...
