I had all my guages hooked up except my speedo, its a sport comp 3.xx" Autometer. It was installed but I just never had the cable routed correctly. I got it plugged in and boooooy its nice to know how fast and far your going. But it doesnt seem to be accurate. It seems like it might be roughly 7 mph faster than im really going. Hm, im stumped for now....

It's more like 8-13 mph off.

Do you have the right speedo gear? Do a search on google, they can usually tell you which speedo gear you need.

Also take note that (I found out the hard way) the gears with lots of teeth 44-45 in my case had a wider diameter shaft than the smaller gear for my 3.31's, so I had to buy a new speedo housing too.
This is assuming you can guess or figure out your drive gear. They are usually pretty standard and a good trans shop should have a catalog, but if you are going to make them look it up, I'd have them install it just to be fair.

If you do install the housing yourself, make sure it goes in straigt as can be or you will be kicking yourself trying to get it out and back in straight.
I have found that almost every speedo gear housing and gear I play with comes in and out with ease as soon as you pop the y-clip off, but sometimes, they don't want to budge.. thats where you are careful.

My speedo setup was for 3.31's when I had 3.90's, I finally have the right driven gear for 3.90s in there now. But I had to buy a new sleeve because of shaft diameter. I tried to drill out the old sleeve, which would have worked, (in a drill press) but I went like a thousandth or two too tiny and it seized up and crapped.
If you need to drill it out and can get a drill press, just get a micrometer for the shaft, measure that, put tape on the drill bit so you know how far down to drill, and go in, but make sure the drill bit is big enough to let it slide in, but not so wide that it doesn't work right. Toss a little lithium grease on the gear shaft before tossing it in there too.
By the way, if you live in a radar legal state, buy yourself or wait for a holiday for a valentine one, or if you have connections or friends in russia a rocky mountain radar type radar jammer..
Laser is a little more tricky, especially with our big chrome bumpers. I saw an active laser jammer for $340, but I had no idea how it worked so I just skipped it and read another ad.
Valentine one's are very expensive though-- but well worth it.
One saved me from jail last weekend when I was testing my "2-3" governor RPMs when I didn't realize I was in overdrive, state cop on the left.. if there weren't 6 cars to the left of me, and my car being alot quieter now, I'd of been toast and in jail. the valentine one is the only one that works well-- I took it out of my truck and put it in the velle after that.
I made a dumb decision leaving a wedding in November and deeply regret what I did in terms of myself, my family and others, thankfully nobody was hurt and there was no accident.
