As some of you might know, I have a 427, BBC in my car. I am swapping the water pump & moving the alt over tonight & noticed that the "dampener" did not seem to be in all the way. the more I looked @ it, it does not even look like a dampener. its made by Moroso (stamped on it in a couple of places) & looks more like a "hub" than anything. there is no rubber ring on it & there are no rattles in it like my Rattler had for my SBC.

What gives? Is this a dampener or just a hub or is this the way that its supposed to be? seems odd to me, but what do I know, never had a Big Block B4.
