: Wiper motor replacement

Yesterday my wiper motor on my 67 finally died. I found a 'remanufactured' one at PepBoys for $53 ($68 with $15 core charge)

Are these replacements ok, or should I try to find someone to rebuild my original one? I kind of hate turning in an original 67 motor core, but if it's shot, I guess there's not much reason to keep it

That price is the cheapest I've seen around so far

If you want to keep the car all part number correct ? I would get it checked out first, it may just need new brushes and a clean up.

I just changed to a new one from Year One, like $170 or so for the two speed.

Amazingly, the service manual has a detailed section on how to take it apart and repair it, so it appears they mean for you to repair them.

My old one finally worked when I got it out, on the bench, etc.

I think I just had a poor grounds at the motor and the switch and dash.

Seven years ago, the one on my 67 failed. I disassembled and serviced it, but it wasn't 100%. I bought a parts store unit (not PepBoys, likely it was Advance but could have been AutoZone). It has worked well.

The one I bought at PepBoys works great. It's a remanufactured, so it looks just like the original. Even has the Delco markings on it.

When he looked it up, he said it was a special order, but when he checked further, he found one at another store location, about 10 miles away. They sent someone to pick it up and I had it that night. Looks like it was in that store for a while, the box was old and was dated 1996
